Summary

Republic Polytechnic students collaborated with the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore to design games that raise awareness of mobility challenges faced by wheelchair users. One game, Mall Time Crunch, intentionally featured difficult navigation to mimic real-life obstacles, encouraging empathy through gameplay. Another, Move with Ease, had players work together to help a wheelchair user navigate public spaces, inspired by a student’s personal experiences with his grandfather. Showcased at events like Symbiosis and MDAS's carnival, the games received positive feedback for being both fun and educational. Students gained deeper insights into inclusivity and used game design to promote social understanding.
