Summary

iCivics and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation have launched Investigation Declaration, a free, award-winning online game that teaches how Enlightenment ideas shaped the Declaration of Independence and inspired global movements for freedom. The game, available in English and Spanish, combines puzzles and strategy to promote learn-as-you-play engagement. Players act as “Agent 6,” restoring corrupted files about freedom and democracy across continents. Teachers can track progress and join the Civic Star Challenge. Recognized with Field Day’s 2025 GEE! Award, the game exemplifies innovative game-based learning and expands history education beyond classrooms, continuing iCivics’ mission to teach civics through interactive technology.
