Summary

At K-State’s College of Education, the Game Lab explores the educational potential of games. Open three days a week, it allows students, faculty, and community members to play games like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering while researchers investigate how games can enhance learning. Created by professors Seth Lickteig and Brad Burenheide, the lab focuses on designing educational games and researching their use in classrooms. Current projects include miniature games and a new academic journal on game-based learning. The lab also fosters social connections, with participants developing original games and collaborating on projects, like Samurai, Rocksucker.
