Summary
Cognitive resilience refers to the ability to remain calm, adapt, and make effective decisions under stress, uncertainty, and information overload. Traditional training methods, based on predictable scenarios and fixed procedures, are increasingly inadequate for today’s complex crises. Simulation and gamification offer more dynamic and realistic training environments that better reflect cognitive load, emotional pressure, and ambiguity. Through serious games, immersive simulations, and emerging technologies such as AI and biometric feedback, decision-makers can develop adaptability and stress management skills. However, these innovations raise ethical concerns, particularly around data protection and potential manipulation. When responsibly designed, simulation and gamification are strategic tools for strengthening cognitive resilience and cognitive sovereignty.
