Summary
Diversity, Equality/Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is a broad umbrella for interconnected concepts often expanded with terms like belonging, justice, and access. Equality ensures equal opportunity, diversity values differences, and inclusion fosters a sense of belonging. Traditional DEI training can be limiting, whereas Serious Games provide immersive, risk-free, motivational learning experiences rooted in constructivist theory. They have long supported education across domains and are increasingly used to address bias, prejudice, empathy, and social issues. Serious Games can reduce resistance to DEI training, support sensitive learning, and advance research through controlled trials, mixed methodologies, and technologically enhanced educational solutions.
