Summary

Seton Hall University’s Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC) is integrating gamification into teaching and training to boost engagement, collaboration, and skill development. Partnering with the Department of Housing and Residence Life, the TLTC designed an escape room experience for Head Residence Assistants (HRAs) centered on solving a mystery about a missing RA. Guided by TLTC designers Renee Cicchino and Ann Oro, the project fostered teamwork, communication, and problem-solving among participants. HRAs reported gaining valuable critical thinking and leadership skills. Overall, gamification at Seton Hall enhances learning by applying game-based challenges, collaboration, and rewards to educational experiences.
