Summary

This paper examines how self-identified lonely young adults interact with a modified game designed to prompt conversation and everyday activities. Through narrative analysis of these in-situ interactions, it reveals how loneliness manifests in different social contexts—either through shaped conversations or gaps in interaction. The study shows that transforming leisure games into social tools can foster social skill development and self-reflection. It highlights the value of playful, serious games in helping lonely individuals better understand themselves and others. The research contributes to understanding how loneliness appears in daily life and offers a novel method for addressing it through interactive design.
