Summary

Tasnim, a doctoral candidate at Idaho State University, specializes in serious games—purpose-driven games designed to support learning and emotional well-being. Inspired by research in human–computer interaction, AR/VR, and immersive technologies under mentor Farjana Eishita, she developed games integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. Her projects, including Militant of the Maze and ARCoD, examined how gameplay environments and personality traits influence therapeutic outcomes without therapist involvement. Through experiments across smartphone, AR, and VR platforms, her dissertation highlights serious games’ therapeutic potential. Tasnim also completed VR and accessibility-focused internships and plans to pursue academia, advancing adaptive gameplay and interactive VR tools.
