Summary

Humphrey Ochulor, a mathematics educator and PhD student at Purdue University, discovered his passion for math after secondary school, inspired by a teacher’s engaging methods. Initially interested in chemistry, he shifted focus to mathematics and education, studying at Alvan Ikoku and Enugu State University. Observing widespread student struggles with algebra, he designed four analogue algebra games to make learning more interactive and effective. These games target expansion, simplification, and factorisation concepts. Despite challenges, Ochulor remains committed to expanding their use, especially in under-resourced areas. At Purdue, he integrates global, culturally responsive teaching with traditional approaches to influence math education worldwide.
