Summary

Northeastern students Jacob Ohlson and Will Wennik created Bot Buster, a physical card game where an AI plays alongside humans. The goal: spot the AI imposter. Developed from a class project, the game uses a custom-built AI chatbot, RONN, based on OpenAI’s API. Players draw prompt, modifier, and role cards—one secretly being the "Bot"—and submit AI-generated answers. Judges guess the imposter’s response. Supported by faculty and pitched at BostonFIG, the game aims to destigmatize AI by blending tech with fun. The duo continues developing the brand, targeting young adults through social media, Kickstarter, and a playable pre-release site.
