Summary
Millions of Americans represent themselves in civil court due to the high cost of legal help, facing a complex and intimidating system alone. To address this, Northeastern University researchers created “RePresent,” a video game that educates pro se litigants through an interactive, scenario-based experience. Developed with legal experts, the game guides users from learning they must go to court to just before a judge's decision. It boosts confidence and understanding without promising real-life success. “RePresent” has reached thousands via mobile platforms and shows promise as an accessible legal education tool, with future versions planned for different case types.
