Summary
Tortuamigos – Move and Connect! is an educational program by Galápagos Conservancy that engages children during school breaks to foster environmental awareness and conservation skills. Centered on experiential learning, the program combines play and education, using outdoor field trips and creative activities to teach about the Galápagos ecosystem—particularly the giant tortoise. Led by educators and volunteers, it benefits around 100 children, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and ecological responsibility. Supported by local governments and the Galápagos National Park Directorate, Tortuamigos strengthens community ties and aims to inspire future conservation leaders, with plans for expansion and continuous impact evaluation.
