Summary
The University at Albany is launching two new programs in Fall 2025—a B.S. in Game Design and Development and an M.S. in Strategic Game Design and Applied Development—aimed at preparing students for careers in the growing gaming industry. The undergraduate program blends theory and hands-on experience, while the graduate program is SUNY's first and focuses on leadership and innovation. Housed in the Department of Information Sciences & Technology, both programs offer interdisciplinary options. The Capital Region's thriving gaming sector and partnerships with industry leaders provide students with practical opportunities. A recent hackathon also led to a $35,000 scholarship from Wolfjaw Studios.
