Summary
A study published in JMIR Serious Games examined the effects of a serious video game, The Secret Trail of Moon (MOON), on ADHD symptoms in 76 children and adolescents receiving medication. Participants underwent 20 sessions of personalized cognitive training via the game or were placed in a control group. While the MOON intervention did not significantly reduce overall behavioral difficulties, notable improvements were seen in working memory, inhibition, and material organization—especially in more engaged participants. The findings suggest that serious video games may enhance ADHD treatment when used alongside medication. One author reported ties to related industries.
