Summary

Ink is a visually stunning RPG with a haunting setting of spirits navigating a shadowy purgatory. Its black-and-white art captures both beauty and darkness, showcasing the creators’ artistic talent. However, the game itself suffers from poor design and lack of polish. Mechanics are underdeveloped, solo play doesn’t work as advertised, and essential content is missing or scattered. The Spirit/Shadow concept has potential, but its execution is shallow. Combat is repetitive and restrictive, and the roguelike elements don’t justify replayability. While the book has charm as a visual or narrative artifact, it ultimately fails as a functional and engaging roleplaying game.
